Greetings of July

posted Jul 4, 2020, 1:10 PM by Joe McLoughlin

THANK YOU for helping us follow Oregon Health Authority guidelines at the Vineyard Mountain Swim Club.   Extra thanks to those volunteers who have been pre-scheduled monitors during extra hot, busy days.  And kudos to our pool workers for keeping the pool cleaned up and in order.
Stay safe, stay healthy, stay open!

We appreciate
  • adults monitoring whenever there are swimmers  (remember to circle your name on the clipboard to document that we have monitors at all times)
  • wearing masks when you enter and leave the pool area
  • signing in and out
  • adjusting your time at the pool so others have swim time too
  • parents monitoring children for reasonable toys and games
A few items of concern:

1.  Please drive SLOWLY on all access roads.  The Park District has opened new trails and there are a lot of walkers, children and pets on the roadways.

2  We found alcohol containers at/in the pool one morning last week.  It appears to be an "after hours" event.   We have been in touch with the Benton County sheriff.  Anyone found in the pool area after 10pm will be cited and member(s) will lose their membership.

We will be installing an "after hours" security camera.

Exciting news!
We are ordering more of the ever popular Vineyard Mountain t-shirts, sweatshirts and tote bags!  See ordering information below.  Please use this link to submit your order by July 12th.

Thank you,
VMSC Board

2020 Plans as of May 19th

posted May 19, 2020, 11:57 AM by Joe McLoughlin   [ updated May 19, 2020, 11:58 AM ]

Here's a brief summary of what we know and what we are planning:
  • We currently can't open in Phase 1 of the Governor's re-opening plan
  • The earliest the state can move to Phase 2 is June 5th
  • We hope to open within about a week of getting the green light. Target is Saturday June 13th
  • We are working to develop operating strategies that will ensure that we maintain social distancing and compliance with the State’s Phase 2 guidelines once those are determined
  • We will limit usage to members only: no guests. However nanny/babysitter/grandparent caretakers will be allowed.
  • If we open in mid-June as we currently expect, dues for the year will be $450.

Thanks to all who voted either in person or online.
We have confirmation of our new Bylaws and the addition of Kate Sanders as the Secretary for the Board of Directors.
The new bylaws are posted in the Document Archive.

Also, we're  reviewing the Pool Rules and Standards of Behavior.
Please add comments to the posted information at the pool.

Finally, we're at the limit for members this season and are not taking any new memberships.

Happy Swimming,

Mowing Sunday (6/23) at 8 am

posted Jun 21, 2019, 11:49 AM by Joe McLoughlin

The field by the pool will be mowed on Sunday morning at 8 am.
We will close the parking area while the tractor is in operation (less than an hour, we expect).
If you come by the pool at that time, please park at the auxiliary parking area near Burgundy Place. Or walk/bike to the pool instead.

Alternative Parking

posted Jun 13, 2019, 9:56 AM by Joe McLoughlin

If our main parking area is full, there's some additional parking available in the cul-de-sac (Burgundy Place) near the steps to the pool.
If the parking area near the pool is full, please use the alternative parking.

Please be courteous to nearby homeowners and don't block driveways.
Or better yet, walk or bike to the pool!.
